The Physalis Peruviana is a small fruit of the size of a cherry, very scented, which is consumed fresh or in dessert.

The variety we cultivate is from South America. It was introduced in France  from the XVIIe century, like tomato or potato. Its fruit is clearer, less astringent, and slightly larger.

It is in Sadirac and in several farms of the area, that we produce this plant for the production of our jams. It is an annual plant, which requires a lof of sun. Its stems can reach 1 m to 1,5 m high.
